🍤 Keto Shrimp Cocktail (Low-Carb & Sugar-Free)

🛒 Ingredients:

For the Shrimp:

  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined (tails on or off)
  • 1 tbsp olive oil or butter
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • Optional: 1 slice lemon, 1 bay leaf (for boiling method)

For the Keto Cocktail Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup sugar-free ketchup (look for <2g carbs per serving)
  • 2 tbsp prepared horseradish (check label for no added sugar)
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp hot sauce (like Tabasco – optional)
  • Salt & pepper to taste

👩‍🍳 Instructions:

1. Cook the Shrimp (2 methods):

Boil Method (classic):

  • Bring a pot of water to a boil with lemon slice and bay leaf (optional).
  • Add shrimp and boil for 2–3 minutes until pink and just cooked.
  • Drain and immediately transfer to an ice bath to stop cooking.

Pan-Sear Method (more flavor):

  • Toss shrimp with olive oil, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Sauté in a skillet over medium heat for 2–3 minutes per side until pink and cooked through.
  • Cool before serving.

2. Make Keto Cocktail Sauce:

In a bowl, mix:

  • Sugar-free ketchup
  • Horseradish
  • Lemon juice
  • Hot sauce (if using)
  • Salt & pepper

Taste and adjust to your preferred spice level.


3. Serve:

  • Arrange chilled shrimp around a small dish of the cocktail sauce.
  • Garnish with lemon wedges and chopped parsley if desired.
